After a tiring day from class, the both of them went to a Cafeteria located beside a boarding house where she stayed as a bed spacer. The night was cold, yet comfy enough to hang out with her special someone, special for her because she loves him secretly.
The ambiance of the Cafeteria was so perfect since it was surrounded with tall and green mango trees. “I have something to tell you.” he said in a soft but manly voice. “But I am afraid you will be mad at me.” He added.
“What is that all about?” asking him calmly. But deep inside her, she felt so excited. She was thinking…is this what I am waiting for? “Promise me… you will not be mad,” telling her with his eyes focused.
“Yes I do promise you…come on, tell me now or I will really be angry. “She was saying it with a smile on her face.
“Phing, I love you so much (Mahal na mahal kita).” He said with all sincerity.
This is it! Her heart beats faster than it was. She was very happy hearing the right words at the right time. The words she longed to hear for a long time. “Is this really happening?” She asked her self quietly…from that moment she wanted to scream out loud of the happiness she felt within her heart.
When she noticed he was trying to walk away with out another word, “Hey! Please wait up! I mean, I love you too (Mahal din kita).” Nervously uttered but her emotions poured out like raindrops.
Right there and then, love was on the air…as if, a person can visibly seen it spreading all around. “Yes! I had a Girlfriend now!” he shouted without hesitation. They were both very happy and on their eyes…full of young love sweet love.
…to recall, the said “YES” was uttered or answered at exactly 6:15 pm, Friday, November 18, 1994. It was 17 years ago but the love is still burning… up to the present and until the end of time.
